Different Taste is rather popular among my colleagues for its location and value for money prices (without 7% GST). It is listed as our to visit whenever we wants to dine in a big group over lunch.

Dining as a group of 5, we ordered a Chinese New Year set menu for 4 but with some dishes upgraded and with an additional bowl of rice.
Fish maw soup is a Chinese New Year dish that cannot be missed especially. The big pot of gooly starchy fish maw with crab meat soup were sub-divided out portionately in 5 portions for us but of course with extra. This "shark fin" alike soup is hot and together with a spoonful of vinegar and few sprinkle of pepper would enhance the overall taste of the soup.

Besides having the fish maw, we had the curry fish head in claypot as well. Meat was pretty fresh with pineapple, ladyfingers, tomatoes added in which gave a sour and sweet tasting level to the dish.

To me the Crispy thai chicken was quite a let down, i'm expecting more meat then just crispily fried chicken skin with shredded vegetables with sweet and sour thai sauce.

On the other hand, Kai Lan in oyster sauce and fried onion bits were pretty ordinary.

Instead of having salad prawns, we opted for wasabi prawns. Each of the prawns were coated with adequate amount of wasabi cream and sprinkled with sesame seats. These prawns once bitten, it let out a springy feel which gave a good overall experience on the dish.
